Almighty and everlasting Father, we come to you as our place of refuge yearning for your compassion and mercy. Our hearts are filled with sorrow as millions of people in our region have been so devastated by natural disasters.
Through your Son Jesus Christ, you have promised to be with your Church to the end of the world. We pray for heavenly rest for all those who have died, for your everlasting presence and grace for all those who have lost loved ones and suffered so greatly and for the courage and faith for all the victims who are facing mounting challenges.
God of all creation, who led the chosen people into the promised land, we pray that you lead the homeless to a place of rest and refreshment. Though Christ's victory over death as he rose again from the dead, we pray that you raise up all who are fallen, devastated and lonely. Through the everlasting presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit we pray that you inspire our hearts and give us the strength to come to help our neighbors in need.
Our heavenly Father, who called each and everyone of us believing in your Son to be the disciples and called us to the highest offices to lead your people, enlighten us with your Holy Spirit, straighten us with your hand, and lead us in your service that we may faithfully and fruitfully serve even the least of the least in the times of difficulties to the glory of your name and the advancement of your kingdom. Bestow upon the elected officials and first responders such gifts as are necessary for them in their respective services. Give grace to them that they may serve everyone in need equally and timely.
Eternal and ever merciful God, we thank you that you have lifted up the Protestant Abbey Mission as a place of reflection, reformation and proclamation of the Gospel. Fill your servants leading the Abbey with your Holy Spirit and may your blessings overflow from the Abbey throughout the ends of the earth victoriously claiming the Gospel. We commend the Abbey here before you to your continual love and guidance that when the chief Shepherd shall appear, the leaders of the Abbey shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade away.
Hear our prayers, everlasting Father, through your beloved Son.
Amen.
