The Abbey Chapel(Filipino Bible Class) went on a picnic on July 4th, 2015. We watched the ЎJosephЎ play at the Sound and Sight Theater in Lancaster County, PA. It ran 2 hours and 30 minutes. Here are some comments on the Joseph play from the members who watched it. The Abbey Chapel Bible Class starts at 9a.m. every Saturday.
There is a lot to learn in Joseph's story. One example is favoritism to someone causes envy and hatred to others. Then, we also learned a good way to avoid sexual temptation - have faith and run.
We also learned that forgiving is hard, but through God, there is nothing impossible. Moral story - have faith in God's plan for you.

Watching Joseph the dreamer in real life play was a great experience. I am impressed of how the performers and crew put so much effort into making the Bible story in real life, where people could understand and have a vision of what itЎs like. The props were a great evidence of how each crew member did their job perfectly, such as the costumes and make up.It was as if I'd been taken back to the old times.
Along with the realistic props and costumes that the performers were wearing, their dialogues and the way they were delivered were strongly felt. Joseph taught me on the part where he suddenly had a change of heart when he saw again his brothers after several years. He did not allow himself to become heartless and let his past consume him. He made me realize that I should be more forgiving, and let go of the painful sorrow of the past.

I've known the story about Joseph since I was a child. I've always remembered him because of his colorful coat that looks like a rainbow. As a grown up Christian, watching the play of Joseph in Sight and Sound Theater reminds me of the deeper message about his story of forgiveness. Oftentimes, I have been hurt, most especially from the people who are close to me--my family. But no matter what they do or say, it is always important to forgive, and that by the grace of God and through His strength that I'm able to do it.
Moreover, in life some people plot something awful against us--mostly out of jealousy. I've experienced it too at one point in my life. But our God Almighty is indeed an awesome God. Evil doesn't persevere. There is a line in the play - "What men meant for evil, God meant for good,in reference to Genesis 50:20. Our life here on earth is not always pleasant but God's presence always gives us comfort.

I have never watched a Bible play before and I was pretty skeptic as to how this production would come out for ЎJoseph.Ў I have seen Broadway plays before and had my expectation set pretty high. After watching the play I was not disappointed at all.The production was impressive and the delivery of the story allowed viewers to understand GodЎs message clearly while being entertained at the same time.
The story of Joseph showed that a strong faith in God does not mean that oneЎs life will always be peaceful and joyous; there will be times of pain and suffering that one goes through in life that test a personЎs faith in God. As Joseph showed through all the trials and tribulations he endured, his faith in the Lord was tested and he never relented in his belief in God and His power to save him from his despair. JosephЎs life showed that even a weak and unimposing person who lost everything can accomplish and achieve greatness through faith in the Lord and all that is impossible will become possible through God.
